You applied for Rakuten Mobile. Then you remembered something. You did not do the referral entry first.
Do not worry yet. In some cases, you can still get the points. But please be careful. If you enter with a different Rakuten ID, it can make things worse.
This page explains what to check, what to do now, and what you still need to finish.
Step 1: Check three things first
Before you do anything, check these three things.
- Your application date. Find the exact day. Look at the confirmation email from Rakuten Mobile. You can also check your history in my Rakuten Mobile (the app and account page for your contract).
- The Rakuten ID you used. Some people have two or more Rakuten IDs. Check which one you used to apply.
- If you really did not enter. Maybe you joined a different campaign. If you are not sure, do the entry again from the referral link.
An entry within 7 days may still count
The basic rule is simple. First, do the entry. Then, apply.
But there is an exception. If you enter within 7 days, the entry may still be accepted. The 7 days include the day you applied.
Please remember two points:
- Rakuten Mobile may ask you to confirm that you forgot the entry.
- Nobody can promise that it will be accepted.
Are you going to apply for more lines, for you or your family? Then do the entry first this time.
What to do right now
- Log in with the same Rakuten ID that you used to apply.
- Open the referral link and log in. This is the referral login. It is free. It does not sign you up for a plan.
- Keep the confirmation email. It shows your application date.
The entry only takes a few seconds. Do it as soon as possible.
Use the same Rakuten ID
The entry and the application must use the same Rakuten ID. If the IDs are different, you cannot get the points.
IDs often get mixed up in these cases:
- You have an old Rakuten ID and a new one.
- You used a family member’s phone or computer.
- You have one ID for work and one for personal use.
How to find the ID you used:
- Find the confirmation email. Check which email address got it.
- Log in to my Rakuten Mobile. If you can see your contract, this is the right ID.
- Use a private browser window. Then old logins will not mix in.
Before each entry, look at the top of the screen. Check which ID is logged in.
How many points you can get
This campaign is for people who are referred by a Rakuten Mobile employee. You need to apply for Rakuten SAIKYO Plan or Rakuten SAIKYO U-NEXT.

The points start 4 months after the month of your entry. They come in 3 parts over 3 months. The count starts from the entry month, not the application month.
For example, you enter in September. You get points in January, February and March.
These are time-limited points. They are valid for 6 months, including the day you get them.
The deadline: finish three things
Your deadline is 23:59 on the last day of the second month after your entry. By then, you must finish all three things:
- Apply for Rakuten SAIKYO Plan or Rakuten SAIKYO U-NEXT.
- Start using the line. Your SIM or eSIM must work.
- Make a call of 10 seconds or more from the Rakuten Link app.
Applying is not enough. You must finish all three.

The deadline is counted in months, not days. If you enter late in the month, you have less time.
The 10-second call: common mistakes
The call is easy. But many people forget it or do it the wrong way.
- Use the Rakuten Link app. Do not use your phone’s normal call app.
- Finish the setup. Log in to Rakuten Link with your Rakuten ID. Then check your phone number.
- Talk for 10 seconds or more. Talk for about 20 seconds to be safe.
- You must make the call. Getting a call does not count.
- Some numbers do not count. Numbers that start with 0570 do not count. Numbers with # and calls with a prefix number also do not count.
You can call a family member or your own other number. After the call, check the call history in the app.
What “start using the line” means
Your line does not start when you apply. It starts when your SIM or eSIM works.
- SIM card: The card arrives. You put it in your phone. Then you can use data and calls.
- eSIM: You finish the setup on your phone. Then you can use data and calls.
If you switch from another carrier, you also need to finish the switch. Set up your SIM on the day it arrives. Then make the Rakuten Link call right away.
